Photographer’s Note
Somewhere between Yolyn Am, & Khonghorin Els, in the South Gobi. I liked the hook in the end of the road at left.

Hello Chris,
A very simple landscape composition that relies on the tonal contrasts between land and sky. I also like the road reaching into the distance; the clouds add to the atmosphere. Excellent colours and clarity.

This touches my heart - the emptiness, the vastness too, the curved dust road... An invitation for travellers !
Similar landscapes can be seen in so many countries, it gives us the spirit of the adventure... Love it !

Cath.

Very well "discovered" Chris, this well composed shot.. the fg is particularly nice, with that great diagonal deep into the side, and then suddenly curving in that "hook", really nice, and yielding two nice long triangles on the sides... luckily you also had a nice pretty sky with attractive small clouds... congrats, Daniel

Hi Chris,
Quite a good representation of this infinite landscape, it reminds me of my travel between Birdsville and Marree. The colours are raw and earthy, and the composition is well planned with the sharp curve to the edge of the frame. Sometimes no feature at all to focus upon is a feature in its own way. One thing I should comment on is the apparent inconsistency of sharpness in the scene; not that it is a big problem, but to me it is visible. The lower segment of the photo seems to be quite sharp and crisp whilst the sky seems to have been smoothed by a brush or filter around the clouds. The effect is OK, nothing wrong with it, just wondering what you did?

Hi Chris
Absolute emptiness. The same feeling I had when I visited the Sahara desert a few yrs ago

There is really nothing. The curved road leads the eye very nicely, but its an endless view to nothing. Well done

Hi Chris,
a nice colour and line composition with good textures of the ground. The dusty road ads some dynamic with the curve. Empty (in my eyes) and wide.

Wonderful shot here of this wide open area in South Gobi...truly remarkable. It's an amazing land that seems to stretch forever and you have captured it so well. The little hook in the road does seem to bekon beyond even further!

hi Chris
Very adventurous to see more of your landscape and this is a good one showing desert land. Must be nice to travel all over the places.
Great shot.

Hi Chris,
the vierw has its atmosphere,a great wide view for the eyes to fly towards far in horizon.the curved line of the road diagonaly with its graphical aspects leeds the eyes to depth and the horizon very well.
graet colors, contrast and a graet composition you worked,Thanks,
Best

Hello Chris,
Attractive simplicity!
The dirt road is the eye-catcher here, and I like the curve it takes as it continues into infinity...
Good colour palette, and the the fluffy white clouds add interest value!
