Photographer’s Note

I took that image at around 10-12 meters down in the sea on the reef side opened to the Indian Ocean just outside an ocean pass.
It was cloudy but with a strong wind that sometimes opened the way to some sunbeams that enters in the water as swords.
All that was illuminated changed immediately and became colorful.
That Ray-finned Fish was swimming around a big coral formation, exactley in the middle of a ray of light.

Don't ask me the name of that type of Ray-finned Fish...there were some thousands of different species!

I used a normal waterproof camera of 20 Us$

-------------------------------------------------------------------

The Actinopterygii are the ray-finned fish. They are the dominant group of vertebrates, with over 27,000 species ubiquitous throughout fresh water and marine environments.

Traditionally three grades of Actinopterygii have been recognized: the Chondrostei, Holostei, and Teleostei. The second is paraphyletic and tends to be abandoned, however, while the first is now restricted to those forms closer to extant Chondrostei than to the other groups. Nearly all fish alive today are teleosts.
