Since the Maldives are an ideal nest for all kind of lovers it's no wonder they flock here from every corner of the world.
"Sign of the times" could be a fitting title for this snapshot of another happy couple. Strangely enough I seemed to bump into them every time I set out to explore the island. I guess they were the most devoted among all the couples I saw there - their hands always locked, never letting go of each other.
While quickly taking this snapshot I just wished that white buggy hadn't been there but I couldn't help it and I'm too lazy to meticulously clone it out now. Other than that the setting and the colors of the early evening looked great to me.

a lesson in composition and also tolerance of changing life-styles. The lines and symmetry are wonderful in this perfectly captured image. The human element actually makes it all the more compelling and boldly romantic. The couple walking away from you is so much more effective than if they were coming ashore, plus there is a great mix of colours to concentrate the perspective. Clever and original imagery! Like this a lot.

The graphic shapes work very well giving the image lots of interest in a beautifully balanced composition with the couple adding that little bit of extra interest and drama.
Very nicely done.
Kind regards Les.

Superbe vue de ces deux personnages sur le ponton avec les toits pointus comme des châpeaux en fond qui font un très bel accompagnement.
Bravo et amitié

Those lovely floating chalets look brighter, inviting and draws you into it, I especially like the way you have framed it with good fg details and the two eye grabbing figures allow the eyes to walk through into the scene. This is a pleasant shot although it appears rather slightly muted without hard light and shadow but there's a good contrast to boost the effect. The crop and exposure are very well controlled, of a picture postcard presentation. Congrats

As said above,,, brilliant symmetry and colors. The worn boardwalk is also very attractive to me.

Classic shot, the sense of depth is really superb and the line of little huts breaks the horizon so perfectly. The happy couple are perfect human addition to the scene. I love the little signs in the foreground too, they help emphasize your perfect symmetry.
All the best

This is really neat, I was immediately drawn to the shapes, patterns and design as soon as I saw the thumbnail What a terrific composition to put this all together in such a fun and eye catching manner. Plus, you included these two gentlemen for that personal and human touch to slightly offset the sharp lines. The soft light fits the scene just right! :) Very well executed to be most pleasing. Have a great day ahead.

This is a fine extension from your previous shot. Here, you have a near symmetrical composition, where the boardwalk makes an irresistible guide into the shot and to highlight the devoted couple. I like the fact that they are walking into the shot for it allows us to share the journey.
The buggy, of which you write, has little impact on the shot, in fact I didn't notice it initially!
My warm regards,

nice the view of the place with the complex of the luxurious settlements to cover the backdrop of the image. The 'loving couple' is a really interesting POV. The same scenes someone can see in Mykonos islands, where hundreds of them walk, especially in the night alongside the island.

Hi Marina !!
I tend not to read the critiques from other TE members.... but today I did, intrigued to see for a response in regards to the two lovers...... well not much was said.....
they were ignored ...... I find that a bit strange as they are right in the centre of the photo..... well may be it is still a tabu subject !!!!
I like the photo and the fantastic setting of the cabins.
Have a nice week end

Why does this image look superb even when the rule of third is not followed ?
Is it the strong graphics of the pillars on which these small chalets are stationed?
Is it the magic of your POV?
Do the number plates on either sides deceive us declaring that they are on 1/3rd of the composition?
Hands in hands...............are the two figures of the males......?
Thanks for "shaking",

Is this a hotel with the rooms just over the sea? Just wonderful! It must be great (and also expensive!) spending a couple of days there! Excellent light and colors! Great composition!

il segreto del successo di questa foto sta nella perfezione della simmetria e nello sfruttamento ottimale delle linee convergenti che determinano una composizione assai gradevole.
La presenza umana la rende più viva ed inserisce una gradevole nota di colore.
Ciao e buon fine settimana
