A driftwood lying on the beach. I didn't put it nor made any compo arrangements, it was there, like that. After the storm and rain that night, it was gone but some other new ones had come.

You have used this charming scene perfectly for this great picture! Looks like everything was waiting for you there to be photographed:) Excellent composition achieved. Like it a lot!

What to say about this photo?
It is perfect, but the razor sharp branch laying in the alsmost white sand is magic.
The beautiful blues in the water and the clouds make this composition complete.
The vertical format is the best choice!

Superb ! Minimalism and estheticism at its best
Bravo, best regards
carlo62 (35348) 2013-05-30 13:36
Tebrikler.

Deniz,I think is needless to say about the composition, clarity and sharpness or colors and light management,
preferably I would like to say that such photos are not just wonderful but they are like lessons to become better,to try to make something similar...

I don't think I've ever seen sand that white and that smooth before, Deniz - and then to find this great black driftwood to grant maximum contrast is really something. You may not have had to arrange anything, but you interpreted the scene nicely, putting this in a vertical frame and at an angle to the show, which creates a nice dynamic effect. Great minimal approach and result.

No I was not itching to write, probably a state of mind, am trying to remember a dream which recurred as a child, flashes of light, or a continuous flow of light, condensed in time, frozen, holding some unknown state of matter within it and I walk through, morphing through time, not the kind that we might have seen in a sci fi which would be definite, measurable and quantified, the kind of light and canvas that is more subjective, vagaries of complete bliss, more than orgasmic. I have seen this light before only in a dream. And I now see it here. The driftwood is a burst of reality that transforms and quantifies everything which eventually breaks that dream.
How did it feel.

surreal beauty, deniz, with the gorgeous, saturated colors.
technically a lovely capture of the third, third, third composition structure, but so much more than that. you have photographed a scene from a dream.
EstudioChispa (2070) 2013-05-31 6:07
This is a stunning image, Deniz! You have taken very simple elements -- sky, sea, sand (what beautiful sand!) -- and presented them in a masterful manner. This is a well-balanced and expressive composition, juxtaposing the dynamic grandeur of "big" nature with the small (but equally wondrous) driftwood branch.
I cannot say it strongly enough. This is HIGH ART.
Well seen and well-presented; thanks for sharing.
rogerl (1544) 2013-05-31 17:06
Deniz, nicely composed and perfectly cropped, with the clouds, the ocean, and the sand. Nicely framed, and how nice of nature to leave this wood in this spot! I do love the clouds here, and the range of light you've achieved. Thanks.

Hi, Simply wonderful. The sand is so incredible white. I can imagine how soft it is and what a pleasure to walk bare foot or just swim in this emerald crystal clear water. Dream!

now THIS is a cool subject too, just like in your last posts.
what a great color contrast, you couldn't have asked for mother nature to set up a better scene for you :)
and the blues with the clouds make it even better.

Merhaba dear Deniz
I have been reading about the troubles in Istanbul and other cities in your country, and I hope that you are okay and that there is an end to the troubles soon.
But to your photo. The vertical frame is well chosen here and I love the placement of the blackened tree branch. It se4rves as an anchor for the photo, guiding the eye towards the horizon and providing another point of interest. The colours are incandescent, so beautifully contrasted with the white sand and the looming grey sky. A wonderful shot, beautiful in its minimalism and skillful composition.
Have a happy day, thanks for sharing

Hi again Deniz,
This monsoon has been really helpful, creating these dramatic skys and colors. This one is sooo beautiful, especially the little natural shadow from the piece of wood.

ha-ha, just thought those first lines of your note after viewing your photo, i.e, the piece of wood is arranged into the frame by you... Latter know the truth after reading your note. Great view. Class composition in vertical. Did you used some filter on your lens? Like the contrast with sky a lot... Thanks for sharing.

I saw this photo by chance. It is an incredible composition of the most refined artistic simplicity provided by nature and your good senses. I also find it very satisfying to make it reach 100 points, which it truly deserves.
