Photographer’s Note
I can't resist taking sunset photos when I'm in a tropical paradise. Rather than a direct sunset shot, here I'm experimenting with a silhouette of a grass beach umbrella.
Contrast-masking was the primary post-processing technique used to retain some of the detail in the sky.

I agree with verge that TL might be a better place for this, since it so heavily post processed. I like the silhouette, though, and there is still a lot of detail in this shot, with the two chairs, and the flag... so it tells a lot about the place. I hope you did try some more sunset shots to capture the many colours of the sky. I usually keep shooting until there is no light left. The best ones are when the light is lowest and the shutter is slowest(of course you have to use a tripod). And don't forget to aim your camera away from the sun to capture the reflected colours, too. Some people think sunsets shots are cliche... but if you believe photography is about light, than it's the best time to explore the possibilities of light.
--- P.S. Straighten your horizon and crop the salvage on the right side.
