Photo taken from the deck of our water villa on Veligandu Island, Rashdu Attoll, Maldives.
When we were there it was during the transition from wet to dry season, and as a reslt there were many storms which would pass in a matter of minutes, only to leave clear weather behind them.
This picture is of a storm on the horizon, making its way over to the island. You can see the almost-green waters of the lagoon in the foreground, and then a darker stripe of water - which is the deeper water beyond the reef. You can also clearly see the density of the rain from the cloud as it falls in the distance.
Apologies for the quality of the photograph - it was takena couple of years ago on an old Olympus camera, and scanned using my very cheap scanner.
**RE-POST - new version uploaded. I recently bought a better quality scanner and have been going over some of my old photos. This is the result of the new scanner, plus some Photoshop tricks I have learnt from this site.
