This grey heron (Ardea Cinerea) was living on the island i was staying.
It was quite friendly, even giving poses in return for some local fish. If you tried to chat, then it started to sing some coloratura arias in Maldivian style.
We sometimes had some evening walk on the beach, both of us bare feeted. I'll later share a photo of one of those evening walks. Stay tuned.

Selam sevgili Deniz,
İsim hariç herşey dörtdörtlük. İsim'e gelince bana bizim "diva"ları hatırlattı da ondan.
Adeta bir doçent doktor havası var :-)))
Şileden selam ve sevgiler
PS. Bugün deli lodosda uçurtma uçurasım geldi.Az daha soluğu Kırımda alacaktım !!!

What a face! I love birds, but this one is a funny-looking character. :-) I like the expression you captured, with his tongue out and his mouth wide open. Lovely tropical colors in the background, too.

What an experience.
Was it Verdi coming out of his throat?
Looking forward to more.

This is a very specially heron, normally are Herons very shy for people.
Sharpness and clarity are pleasant.
Excellent composition with open beak.
Very well done, TFS.

Funny observation of this beautiful bird! You took an opportunity for taking this image very well -- excellent composition and quality achieved. Like it a lot! Great work.

I must say, the title certainly seems appropriate for this shot! This heron looks proud to be on display and is happy to accommodate the paparazzi. :) Love this point of view...I'm guessing you either knelt, or sat down to achieve this leveled perspective?? However you managed, it worked splendidly! Sharp focus and a perfect depth of field to enhance the detail of this beauty, very well done. A great photo for a great moment, thanks for sharing this fun and well planned image. Have a nice Tuesday.
All the best,

Very good decisive moment
Good chance to be close to this bird
Very good catch

The bird is standing with a single leg. It does look like talking or singing, very interesting. The background of turquoise water is gorgeous.

Fabulous in every way, Deniz... sky, sea, sand, bird, all perfect.

iyi akşamlar deniz;
bu benzetmelerde çok iyisin...bence isim çok yakışmış gözlerimin önüne geliverdi :)çekim her zaman ki şiirselliğiyle hem komik hem de gözalıcı..

Brilliant shot, Deniz! You must have been really close to this guy - and he is maybe shrieking at you to move back! But the effect is great; the orange of the inside of his beak is really nice and bright against the cool colors elsewhere in the frame, and your focus and DOF are outstanding. Really beautiful work here - hopefully he didn't chase you off right after this shot. He looks like a pretty big guy from this, though that's probably deceiving...

Allah hepimizi korusun,

Have you heard the one about the one legged bird with the big mouth?! Ha!
Reminds me of a few ex-girlfriends!
An amazing creature - fascinating shot!
ikeharel (63877) 2013-06-15 1:16
Your title Deniz, gave her grace.
Most fabulous how this big bird posed for you, mouth open and a view down her throat...
Good contrast with the tourquise sea, on a nice moment taken the advantage.
Enjoy a nice weekend,
CLODO (32550) 2013-06-19 5:46
Hi Deniz again
really decisive moment to catch this posture. The bird seem to be used to meet human person, you got it with a very usual focal lens!
KristinsCamera (2373) 2013-07-09 17:13

what an expression, that's a lot of attitude ~ you have named this one well.

beautiful colors and framing.
each time i look at it, i laugh :)
thanks deniz ~
