Photographer’s Note
It is the part of the year again when the fallow plain around villages in certain part of Sabah is starting to be green and manicured again.
A few months ago, this plain was stark and dry when we were setting up the route passing through Kampong Tambatuon for the Sabah Adventure Race 2008. But last week on a camping trip, just about any flat lands around Kampong Tambatuon is green.
In the photo, you can see "sulap" or sheds constructed by the farmers as shelters and tool sheds in the middle of their rice fields.
Passing through the rice field is the Kadamaian River. This river finds its source at the foot of the Kadamaian Waterfall and as it cuts through the Kiau Valley, it becomes the Tempasuk River as it makes its way through the plain approaching Kota Belud.

What I like best about the image is the small hut for the siesta. We called them dangau here and I'm sure it is served the same purpose as sulap.
Beautiful view with the sky cropped off Rabani. The light slicing the plane is enough to create contrast with the river running horizontally to give the tranquil view. Thanks for sharing and Selamat Berpuasa. Wasallam, Jusni
