Photographer’s Note
The old Sarawak State Mosque is a very humble version of its kind compared to some others in the region. Here, the domes of the minarets are simply painted in bright golden colour. In contrast, all the domes at the State Mosque of the oil-rich Brunei are cladded with 24 carats golden glass mosaic.
Nevertheless, this newly re-painted building provides a photo opportunity when there was blue sky and clouds awaiting my polariser.

Hi Alfred
There will be a controversial referendum here in Switzerland in November about whether to allow minarets to be built or not. If they are allowed it'd be nice that they be built in this style to add a lot of colour to the Swiss architectual scenery. The yellow domes against the strongly polarized sky contrast so well and I love those huge fluffy clouds.

Hello Alfred
Wow... the polarizer really has made this blue and yellow jump out. They compliment each other very well, and the white clouds are also bright and puffy. I like the perspective you have chosen with the domes - making if the focal point of the building. The mosques were never like this style in London (that I had seen) so it is a pleasure to see this type of build.

Hello Alfred, Excellent colour in this scene, The pale colours & golden tops contrast very well against the blue sky and a very beautiful sky it is. I like the colour & clarity here. I must remember to use my polariser more often especially after seeing this result. Beautiful shot, well done my friend.
Take care

Hello Alfred,
What a contrast between the deep blue sky with the lightly colored mosque but strong in detail & sharpness. Together with the clouds this pov makes the photo somewhat animated. Great simplicity too. Best Regards. Latiff.

hi Alfred
Very good composition without optical distortion and great saturation with CPL. The bright blue sky and white clouds just enhance much more the effect.

Hello Alfred. You have seized the opportunity well in capturing this pastel colored minarets. You are right about the saturated blue sky and the puffy white cloud. Nicely framed in pleasant placement of the subject. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Alfred, this is a nice shot I think, and while it is not tilted to the right it seems to be. The colors are great and the detail is super, fine capture.

Hi Alfred.
J'aime beaucoup cette composition qui laisse le quart de l'image pour cette belle architecture et tout le reste à un ciel merveilleusement polarisé. Les couleurs toutes fraiches de ces minarets ressortent parfaitement sur ce ciel.

Hi Alfred. This is truly a splendid vision. Firstly, I love minarets, and these are like an impression from a fairytale. The light is magical, the sky even more so. Superb colour combination. A little masterpiece. Regards and best wishes for 2009. Klaudio.
