Photographer’s Note

The island at the far end is said to look like a man's face looking up.
North shore of Maiga Island is a scene of calm with very little wave ripples at this late afternoon, even though this side of the island has no huts built by the Sea Bajau and tends to be exposed to gentle wind and erosion of the shoreline, with less vegetation and palms.
I liked Maiga because its inhabitants are not exposed to any commercial activities and they are really at home and themselves. Imagine yourself spending a day walking around this island with a camera, swim in the sea and do nothing else, totally cut off from the world. Nature's way of life...that's Maiga.
