Bonjour Bill,
une macro de qualité dans de belles lumières et des coulurs naturelles. Peu de choses à dire sauf qu'il s'agit d'un excellent document pour les amateurs.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Bill,
a nice macro shot, you did very well here, the drop on the leaf is a great detail. I have to admit I am not that familiar with macro photography, my main interest is landscape and city photography, but I know if someone did a good job on an image and you definetly did, good work!
Take care
Mark

Hi Bill,
A perfect macro . The details are very well captured here. An interesting photo.

Maria
Caught in the act! ;) I find macro photography to be one of the most difficult genres as it is very difficult to decide on the aperture size. I think a smaller aperture would have been better to give you a wider DOF so more is in focus. The edge of the leaf and the front legs are pin-sharp but the rest of the butterflies are out of focus. That's what is so difficult, as you do need the background out of focus. Nevertheless it is a creditable first attempt. Well done.

Hi Bill,
Macro photography is the most difficult there is. Alright to have the appropriate equipment and flash lights however the wind is the worst enemy.
Now why am I saying this.
I think you've tried your best my friend to capture this one here with the best way
The focus point was slightly moved at the bugs back, and not at the eyes which is the most interesting part.
Why f/2.8 and 1/1000?
You could try f/10 and 1/250 with flash -0.33 EV !

Hello Bill. One thing about my experience with butterfly mating that I would like to share is that they are not easily disturbed as in solo one. They'll stay double even on flight. You have a very good focus at the tip of the front wings and at f/2.8FL, the depth is really shallow. The perspective is stunning with the perch at the edge of the blade and the negative background is a definite plus point. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hi Bill
Good macro of the 2 insects, with superb dof & colour. A tighter crop would strengthen this image imho. Tfs!

Hi Bill,
A nice macro photo iof the two butterflies which are on the leave. The light brings out the colors. The subject is nicely frame. The point of viuew is showing the details and colors of the insect. Have a nice day.

Oh yes, and what are they doing ? Just butterflying ?
Love the details of the 1st one,
Not easy I guess, to chase those creatures...
Best regards,
Cath.
