Photographer’s Note
I think rock climbers in their previous lives were geckos and spiders if reincarnation is anything to go by. In the photo, a writer/rock climber is finger and toe picking his way up to the 1st pitch from where this photo was taken. The 1st pitch is about 30m from the belay point.
The Panar Laban Rockface is a 9 pitch granite rockface. The height is about 300m and an experienced rock climber could go technical through it in 3 hours. A team would probably take more times.
The Panar Laban rockface is also "spacious". Its real estate is roughly about 10,000m². Anyone with gecko like tractions could find or set new routes on it without running across other routes. To read more about the other activities and features of this rockface, just google "mountain torq".
