Photographer’s Note

High noon at western end of Sarawak's coastal beach looks deserted, quiet and hot. With the scorching sun beating down and the heat wave, no activities will run for the rest hour, as if life grinds to a halt. Western end of Sarawak stretches from Lundu, Sematan to the tip of Tanjung Datu and most villagers depend on fishing and farming activities to make a living. Nowadays, road access has made it convenient to reach here in less than 1.5 hour for a day trip picnic, especially on weekends and public holidays. Homestay is avaialable, as well as budget accommodations. Perhaps, a short escape from the city life for most people, and a chance to enjoy fairly cheap seafood meals.

hi Bill,
ah, the sky here! love that deep blue, it's always been a colour of holidays for me :) I like a lot how you have let it dominate the scene, I find it creates a nice relaxed mood. captivating textures on the sand in the foreground, and I like a lot how the dark triangle of the palm trees seem to be pointing towards the see and the sky. very well seen and presented.

This is a fine capture of this great beach. It seems so isolated and peaceful. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The sky is great and it is what draws the eye to this photo.

Wonderful brilliant blue sky seen above this deserted tropical beach. Great depth is acheived by the distant view of the mountains. Lovely texture to the sandy beach that contrast so nicely with the tropical palms and blue sky. This must be a hot day to keep the people away.

a true vacation pic, my friend. for us 'auslanders' that is :) the sky is gorgeous and so is the perspective by the palm trees. is this low tide? i'm just wondering what this setting would look like in high tide, with the water close to the tree line and evening sun.

I bet it's gonna take a long time before we se package tours here, fortunately there still relatively unspoiled beaches in remote areas of S-E Asia.
About imagage, graet framing fantastic sky and I like the redish tone of the sand.

The diagonal line of the beach is an asset to the composition. The point of view takes us towrad the mountains in the background. The palm trees ara anatural frame to the beach. The quality of the light brings out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.
