Photographer’s Note
Honestly, when you are looking across the Semporna Bay from the jetty, you wouldn't get to see this view. A view of an old man's head seen from the side this near.
The truth is, the old man's head profile is that of an island about 90 minutes away called Bohey Dulang. Optically it looks that big because it was shot at 300mm with another object much closer to the lens. In reality, the island is not that loomingly big.
It's a lot like when you shoot someone at the longest end of a telephoto lens, say 300mm, and there's a moon behind him. Chances are the moon appears much larger than life.
Give it a try.

Hello Rabani,
It's an excellent composition. Indeed, the far away island has the form of a man's head. It's great to see this together with the village on stilts, the palmtrees and the boats on the foreground.

Hi Bani
I saw this in Semporna just before we took a boat ride to the islands, and again later at Maiga island's east side. Some shots of Maiga also show this face-up.
Your shot is much close and detail.

Assalamualaikum Rabani. I have taken shots at daytime moon at full 300mmFL and yes, it is larger than life but the depth is just too shallow to get the life in focus too. If you see my TL post then it was captured twice against the same sky with focus on different subjects. Your Tammy has a very wide range of FL and must have weighed slightly more than half a kilo and very handy to carry around.
The composition here is stunning with the hill bigger than life :-). Both boats sit on the sweet spot balances well with the houses and the swaying palms. Dreamy look against the spotless clear sky. I like this and very well done. Best regards. Jusni
