Hello friends in TE.

I have spotted this interesting view in Perlis while driving my little one around after dropping my wife at the clinic in Kangar. The modern architecture in the background is the main conference hall in this state of Perlis. The little shack is where farmers stored the diesel water pump for the rice field. You can see the rubber pipe dipping into the small canal. For TrekNature fans, the plant in the canal is Pistia stratiotes.

Pistia stratiotes
Family Araceae
Vernacular Names
Malaysia: Kiambang.
English: Water lettuce, tropical duckweed, Nile cabbage.
Indonesia: Ki apu (Sundanese), kayu apu (Javanese), kiambang (West-Kalimantan).
Philippines: Kiapo, apon (Tagalog), loloan (Iloko).
Thailand: Chok (central), kaa kok, phak kok (northern).
Vietnam: B[ef]o c[as]i, b[ef]o tai t[uw][owj]ng, d[aj]i ph[uf] b[if]nh.
French: Lettue, d’eau.

Hi Jusni,
Thanks for the note and your shot. An interesting contrast of two complete different types of architecture. One a common man's and the other the Elite's.
Well done,
Shaeri

hi Jusni

Trying to compare the shack and the modern through a photo is your style of throwing the imagination back to the viewer. A good shot and giving details for the purpose. Photojournalistic

-:)) Hi Jusny, as also your title shows with the composition I like the funny ton.
Very good seen and composed, although on the building behind there are parts they are over exposed it is still good to see.
Best wishes.

Hi Jusni,

Very interesting photo. The small shack contrasts with this new conference hall. I understand this green field is rice field?
Thanks for sharing

Beautiful shot with these wonderful shinned greens. This reddish roof gave an excellent contrast against the others colors. Good POV and framing. Well done, best regards, Consuelo

Hi Jusni,
The POV is very good, it's interesting to see the mix of old and new, big and simple constructions that reflect modernity and tradition living side by side.
The light was quite challenging and you did a remarkable job on the shadows, but there is much OE on the sunned areas, which makes a lot of damage. I am amazed how evanrizo managed to get so much details in his WS.
Regards, José.

Hello Jusni
Quite a contrast in architecture styles! In the Bg with the golden domes of the conference hall & in the FG, the basic shack. Light is quite harsh, but you've handled it well. Well done!
Best Regards
Angshu

Jusni,
a very good composition with the shack in the foreground with perfect off center placement and the other building in the background to contrast the predominantely agricultural area.
The sky is quite overexposed and would have required some ND grad filter treatment for better light management.
Peter

hi jusni,
foremost, a very fitting tittle you have chosen!!
the architectural design of the BG building is seen well despite some OE'd segments in the compo. the abandoned FG shack adds the "what's that" wonder to some which i hoped you elaborated a little just like what you did with the Nile cabbage.

Hello Jusni
What a splendid side light that provides a beautiful contrast on this semi-rural scenery!
Interesting architecture on backdrop.
A true impression of freshness is convied by so much greenery.
Best regards.
