On the 3rd day, it was all uphills all the way to the finishing line. With the tropical sun bearing down and the seemingly never ending ascending and undulating road of the Kota Belud Bypass Highway, it was a bit unbearable to some of the adventure runners.
While others slow to a crawl or find anything with shades under it, there are a few that soldiers on under that mid morning tropical heat.
In front of these runners, there is about another 10km of elevated road and 10 km of rough gravel open road before the 2km walk up to the finishing line at Kg. Kiau Taburi.
In this photo, while an adventure runner pushes his team mate's mountain bike for him up the hill, his team mate behind him find little comfort from the heat and exhaustion, with water he'd splashed on himself. |
