Photographer’s Note
1st Day:
Sabah Adventure Challenge is a 3 Days multiple disciplines adventure race and this year, it's its 9th edition. With a total distance of 180km within 3 days, the athlete runs, mountain bikes and tubes the rough countryside of Sabah and even traverses and abseil a waterfall, among its many adventurous challenges.
In this photo, an extreme adventure runner found herself almost pinned down by the falling water on an upper section as she abseiled her way down a waterfall in Kionsom, Inanam.
To get to this section of the Kionsom Waterfall for the up close and personal works with the athletes, instead of the butt or back shots from below, you either abseil to the section or rope climb to it from the base. In Action/Sport Photography, it is always better to get the shots from position different from where the general public is watching.
The extreme category of adventure runners would have to abseil down a waterfall after rope traversing a narrow gorge above the waterfall.
In the next few days, photos from Sabah Adventure Challenge 2008 will be posted at Trekearth showcasing one of the few major adventure events of Sabah.

Hello Rabani,
This activity seem fun. The woman appear very amused at the amount of water falling on her. Good action shot with excellent sharpness and colours. You managed an effective view of the action of the water as it moves down. I can imagine how much energy a race like this one gather from all the competitors. Good work Rabani.

Hello Rabani,
An imaginative shot with the full force of the waterfall creating an abstract image of sorts, like a very thick veil. Isn't Sabah the Malaysian state in which the oldest continuous jungle (one millions old) exists? I visited Johor Bahru to give some lectures in 2000 and was very much impressed by the hospitality of the Malaysians. Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Rabani,
The relatively low shutter speed gives this shot a nice freeze on the falling water & at the same time give a soft silky look on the "bouncing" water ... a fantastic low & high shutter speed effect in one shot! No noticeable movement blur of the participant is another big asset here. A remarkable action shot. Well done & salam. Latiff.

Assalamualaikum
A great shot to present the story and moment of the adventure event. The heavy force of the waterfall, the runner's expression and the way you express the dynamism here, blended well in a single frame to make a great adventure photo. Thank you for sharing.
Wassalam
Ramdan.

Hi Rabani,
I noticed there are water droplets which appears to be on a transparent shield in front of your camera. The effects of this is really nice though. The falling water depicted by the fine silky smooth lines is excellent.
It seems that the lady is enjoying herself and not thinking about moving on with the competition.
