[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Chinese characters on this padlock in a little back street of KL's Chinatown caught my eye. I thought about making it black and white, but I like the warm tones of the wood and the red in the rusted metal.

I like the texture on this picture. I also like the orange touch on the left side.

Good work

Hi Charlotte,
Great textures & the wood & iron. Sharp & full of wonderful details. Regards. Latiff.

Hello Charlotte,
this is a nice shot! quite simple compo but effective thanks to the contrast between the different tones and elements and because the padlock is well placed a bit off center. Quality is more than ok with well visible details throughout. Nice job!!
Regards

Igor

A good pov for this lock.

B&W or Sepia will look as good, IMO. I believe the padlock chinese character's name is Globe, made in China.

Charlotte,
Very interesting and beautiful composition here, full of vivid details. I have a similar taken in Brazil at here in the other world side. :-)

Well done.

nice composition and textures! good focus and colors. nice vision. tfs

Again good sharpness for this detail Catherine, I m glad you didnt post in B&W the textures and warm colours are lovely.

This is a neat abstract shot. Glad you kept the colors which makes it more interesting. I remember using these locks as I was growing up in Malaysia. Brings back quite a bit of memories.
Thanks.

Hallo Charlotte,

You have some really nice work in your gallery already, but this one in particular caught my eye. It is simple and yet effective, a good balance of elements although one suggestion I might make is perhaps best not to put the handle and lock on the vertical centre of the shot but rather lower down, so as to break the symmetry a little.

But a lovely shot and I agree a black & white shot would have missed out on the nice warm browns we have here.

Great eyes here Charlotte with a beautiful texture and a detail : the oxydation which "makes" the photo.
Very well framed too.
Hope you are not locked like this :-)

Hello Charlotte

I also miss this one, and though I like a lot this kind of photos. Simple, but so strong.
An affective frame, with a perfect sharpness which lets admire the details.
The texture is palpable, and the rust adds a contrast.
Very well seen.

Karine

(It seems that I could put a green smiley on each of your compositions ;o)
