[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
About 6 months ago we trekked about 2 hours up along this upstream section of a beautiful river with crystal clear water. It looks as though no one has been here, little sign disturbance to the nature and of course, no rubbish. But the fact is there are serveral Bidayuh villages located very deep inland. The furthest remote vilage is about 6 hrs walk from the main road.

Soon all these will be changed. On this occassion, we discovered that the government has started the construction of a road along this stream leading to a new dam, to create a water reservoir. Many of the villagers may have to be resettled elsewhere, and the section of the river you see in this photo will be gone forever, and turned vitually into almost dry river bed.

This will be another destruction to the natural environment.

Hope you enjoy viewing and all comments are welcome.

Alfred

Hi Alfred,
Wishing you Happy New Year and Better Days.

You know, development in the wrong hands means destruction but probably it's generally ok when it is done by a group of people with public invested authority. Most people seems to forget, what is beautiful and scenic around us is not just for visual, but really our very own life support systems.

As for your work here, either there's a yellow cast or there's a little bit more yellow in the hues or saturation Al.

Keep on trekking my friend. It is said, no two pictures can be perfectly identical either at the same moment or at any given days. Maybe, there wouldn't be anything left much to shoot again at the rate progress is walking on this planet.

Regards
Bani

P/s. No...I didn't shoot with a polarizer shooting the waterfall Al. Maybe the glitterings on your photo is caused by the tiny droplets or vapors on your lens, from the mist of the waterfall.

Technical aspects aside, this a find composition of a great scenic spot for getaways and nature lovers, well done. TFS
