| I was in kampung where I spend my annual leave. Leaving KL and straight to my hometown in Kota Marudu, Sabah, Malaysia. I was walking around my village looking for someting intresting to shoot. This is actually my first real experience shooting using DSLR camera as I just bought it just a day before leaving KL. I was shooting randomly from flowers, trees, houses, pets, padi field and many more (just to exp and testing) until suddently i saw this little girl sitting next to her mom. As i start to shoot at her, she slowly hiding her self behind her mom and refuse to look at me. I know she will turning at me after all becouse of curiosity so I waited patiently and this was the result... for me this is one of my best shoot from hundred picture that I take before (using the same camera). Hope that my skill will imporve from time to time and any advice or critique are most welcome. |

Hi, Rumbia. Welcome to TE. I'm sure you will learn a lot here by posting and critiquing the photos of others. I congratulate you on this excellent first post. A beautiful candid portait. Composition is excellent. And your story tells a lot about your promising approach to photography. You saw an opportunity, you pursued it, you used your head and thought it, you waited for the moment and your patience paid off. So, good for you. I couldn't improve on the taking of this photo, but I thought it could use a little more constrast and sharpening in the post-processing. So I did a workshop for you. Just a subtle adjustment. Keep posting. Best, -Hugh
Ciao Rumbia,
What a cute baby! You captured her in a very nice expression. Colours and POV are perfect.
Thanks for the useful notes and congratulations for your patience...really worthwhile!
WELCOME TO TE.

Hi Rumbia. This is what we call perspectives. we can capture the exact things with other photographers, but you have your own view and it's influence your skill in putting it into a frame. You have a nice photo shot actually..
