Photographer’s Note
The Sungai Palas Tea Estate is one of the three main tea producers in the Cameron Highlands. This estate is the highest up the hill side, close to Brinchang village.
The Englishman William Cameron mapped this area for the first time in 1885. In the 1920 they came back ans set-up a hill station here, to escape from the summer heat. The climat was, and still is, very suitable for growing tea, and so the first was planted about 80 years ago. These trees are still in use today. Tea trees, when proper maintained, can be productive for us to 120 year.
To get to the estate, take a bus or try hitchhiking from Tanah Rata or from Brinchang.

Beautiful portrait Etienne, the composition is a bit centered ( I would have preferred this girl on the image's left side) but great DOf and colours, well done.
Have a nice week-end

Bonsoir Etienne
I've been to the Cameron Highlands a couple of times, & enjoyed the orange Pekoe tea. Good close up shot of the tea picker, with a nice, shallow dof. Merci pour le partage!

Hello Etienne,
Good capture of the woman collecting tea leaves with perfect light. The slight blurred effect in BG gives more impact on the worker. Good choice of vertical format and colors well rendered.
Cheers,
Marilyn

Hi Etienne,
I really like how she sits in a world of diffuse green .. that is really effective .. especially given the sharp emotion on her face.
I really like it.
take care,
John

Hello Etienne. A very nice environmental portrait you made of this tea picker with your long lens. She is well shown carrying the basket in between the vividly green layers of tea plants, and you got a sort of medium-shallow DOF that sets her apart nicely from the background. Good photo and also a quite interesting note, thanks.

Hi Etienne!
Nice portrait of the tea picker. He or she is nice framed by the tealeafs, which have wonderful green tones. The blue cloth contrast very well.
I have good memories at Cameron highlands.

Hi Etienne,
At first it looked to me a much common snapshot, but after looking more carefully, I find it a beautiful portrait, nicely framed with all that green. The darker strips on the bg and the perfect dof kind of save it from being a bit dull and make it great instead.
Regards, José.

Bonjour Etienne!
It's a great portrait - the shallow dof puts a stress on the worker and sugests a inner world of another dimension.

Anton

Hi Etienne. Nice portrait and good note. You have separated your subject well with colour and shallow DOF. Well composed and presented. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Paul.

Hoi Etienne,
Groet,
Harko
