cherating beach
Cherating, almost 50km north of Kuantan on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is probably one of the many kept secrets in Southeast Asia. some refered it to be the “the perfect antidote to frantic city life.”
Cherating did not become the home of Asia’s first Club Med. A lot of the beaches were set aside as one of the world’s most important sea turtle sanctuaries.
What charm and attraction brings visitors to Cherating? The actual town is basically a Malay kampung, or traditional village. Handicrafts and cultural events are everywhere. Among he activities you can dwelwe yourself into are that you can participate in the manufacturing of batik cloth, you can see Malay dance or watch a traditional shadow puppet play. Dont forget food, like sata.
