So some of you wanted to see the face of this hatted guy. Here's a little follow up then...

Usually against some of my principles but I had to pay the guy for crossings we didn't do (well what are a couple of ringgits...).

Seems everyone now chooses a character in any asian city and shoot him till he drops or flees. This guy was my own choice in Kuching...Now you know who'll be your next target if ever you stay a day or two in Kuching.

nice picture, nicely composed. i like the way the guy is posing to the picture, near his boat. nice hat too. I like people in the boat, their faces are still seen. and you managed to get some sky...
nice picture

This is good Luko, but not great. for me, the biggest stumbling block is that rather stiff, posed look of the hatted guy. He looks to be standing waiting for you to take his photo. Somehow I find the crop a little tight too, especially in relation to the oars and the frontof the boat. Things are sharp adn the colors look good, maybe you really are a high saturation slide guy after all.

looks like you just created a new chase figure/model for kuching LOL!
A friendly and jovial looking character I must say. The tambang is roomier than i expected

Good shot

OK, if everyone is shooting one person till they drop, I'd like to request someone in Hong Kong to pick a 20-something HK policewomen in uniform and start shooting...

Ahem, now I've got that out of my system, on to the critique: Nicely composed, nice colours and I like the oars in the foregound. It looks a slight bit over-sharpened to me. I can't help thinking it may have more impact if you took it from much closer to the ground and looking up slightly. Good work regardless though.

I like this one, Luko, and like it very much, actually. The thing that makes the shot for me are not the guy standing by his boat, but the people inside. They seem to be peering out of the darkness to see what is happening and, IMHO, bring a little humor into the shot. Darren said something about this guy being rigid...I don't agree. People tend to pose when asked by another someone to have their picture taken...just human nature at play.

BTW: this reminds me of another shot of yours...the Sir Lankan fisherman who posed with the smoke. This shot gives off a little of that vibe.

Anyway, excellent. Good work, Luko.

This is a good shot! I like the colors and the angles of the paddle. I also like the distinct lines of the stairs, the bridge and the building at the back. Good and well-seen patterns.

great compo again luko... i like all these lines meeting in all parts of your frame, the paddles, the roof, the building, the bridge, etc... soft light too; nice shot
