[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

I feel different today, (perhaps because I got my 1st replies from my critique in TE.. :D) so I choose to share something different and I selected this one. This one is for a change. But this photo has the ‘look’ that I wanted.

It’s a wedding photo, and I called it ‘Made in Heaven’. Well, hopefully I am right.

This photo was taken without flash with hope that the light from nearby video camera would be sufficient to enlighten the scene. Surprisingly, the photo comes lovely and I would say that the photo is well representing the wonderful and beautiful wedding ceremony – right to the couple’s mixed inner feels. I mean, it has the look. Does it?

It would be interesting to learn from fellow TElings on how this photo could be best presented. In order words to improve the look, because I just feel something were missing.

Thanks for your suggestion/comments/critique, and have a nice day ahead!

BTW, this is the wedding of my friend - Willson M., with my wife’s elder sister - Sybilla M.

P/s: my apology if this is a bit out from TE philosophy.

This is one of the nicest wedding photos I have ever seen !!
It certainly beats the gaudyness and show off of the traditional wedding photos !! Congratulations.. in years to come I am sure the couple will treasure it !

cheers

Dimitri

This is a gorgeous wedding photo. Well seen. Composing the image tight gives a sense of intimacy. And the way you captured the light is brilliant. One thing that seems distracting is what appears to be a plant in the upper lefft corner. Some would say this is part of the scene and you had no choice but to leave it to capture this wonderful composition. Others might suggest you remove it in postproduction (Photoshop). Just something to consider as a photographer. Either way it doesn't change the fact that this is a great photograph.

Hi,
A photo very well taken.

This is an excellent wedding photo. Good composition and excellent exposure. Well done.

Dear DA,

Most of the time, kamu kena "expert" dalam event yang kamu shooting itu.

Beautiful light and colours, this is a very intimate and emotionally warming shot.
A lovely bride.
Thanks for sharing

My first look to this photo: Love at first site..lol, in my amateuristic opinion, it is almost perfect. Taken at the right angle, the objects have the perfect mood and what impressed me most is where the light falls at the right intensity. It is unfortunate that the little white flower on the veil lies right on the lips of the bride, otherwise looks angelic, as the title says, made in heaven. (Miagal gia di do kisini topurak - tapi memang hibat la ko gambar).

My second look: ..eh. ididi..iyooii.. dia pula tu, sikit lagi inda kanal bah. DA, if you are her bro in law, ko monongiwan pula sa..

Nairelav,
Not too sure what camera you were using but the exposure came out alright on the main subject. There were some comments about the leaf, but it is hardly visible here. If I was going to print out this shot for your friend, I may want to do some WS and take out that leaf if it comes out too prominantly in the print. I would have also adviced Sybilla to change to a different veil. The white flowers in the veil are not good for a photographer and actually should not be place at her face level. They may look nice but does nothing to the photograph as it blocks out areas, like for this case her lips. Taking wedding photographs is a challange some times, I had a friend who was contracted to take wedding photographs for a Datuk but somehow something went wrong and some of the shots was spoilt, you can imagine what happened then. But this should not keep you from improving you skill for taking function shots. TFS Andre
