[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Built by Chinese tycoon Cheong Fatt Tze, this house was his favorite among all the ones he belonged in the late 19th century. When he left China to arrive in Penang, he was just working in a restaurant, cleaning the dishes. After marrying the rich owner's daughter and a couple of years, he had built a financial empire over south eastern Asia, with various activities. His motto was to be able to sell whatever people would need. He was also known as the Chinese Rockfeller...

Unlike most houses which were built in this era, he decided to give it a true traditional Chinese style to make sure nobody among his heirs would want to sell it. After extensive renovation works in the early 1990's, it's now a luxury hotel which can be visited twice a day.

I really liked the red trishaw and the green plant in front of this blue wall.

Hi Clement,

Beautiful composition in blue colours. I like the idea of having a door and a bike nearby. Good PoV, colours and sharpness.

Cheers :-)

Roberto

This place leaves a lot of memory to me. On my first assigment for Fed Ex post card, I came to this mansion.

But I thought photos are prohibited in this area? Did you stayed there or did you went in for a visit? Cause I think the entrance fees is too expensive

Hi Clement,
The blue wall is very dramatic. The trishaw and plant like you have mentioned are in a very appropriate place and they give the photo great appeal, I like it very much, thank you for sharing.
Cheers,
Debbie

Clement,

Very good POV. Good mix of contrasting colors. The red trishaw on a blue background is beautiful.

Keep up the good work.
