Photographer’s Note
The standard picture of paradise is probably a sundrenched beach with palm trees and azure water, at least in cold countries like mine. But after spending enough time at such places one starts to long after another paradise.
Cameron highlands in Malaysia could very well be described as a paradise on earth. The air is fresh and clean, the plants are green and lush, the temperature is comfortable. I spent a couple of days here in 1991 and I loved it.
Cameron highland is mostly known for it's tea plantations, and visiting one of those is really recommended. It looks almost undreal with those extremely pruned bushes hugging the undulating hills. Here we also found strawberries being grown, which my Australian host brother thought was very exotic.
If you find yourself with time to spend in Malaysia, don't miss this place, the only bad thing about going here was that the bustrip up was the scariest trip I have ever made. Hopefully they have done something about that road in the last 13 years.

Great shot. Nice winding roads and so many different kinds of trees and plants topped with fog give this place an enchanting look.

Wonderful scenery! So peaceful and serene... I like the fogginess at the top together with the clear view of the house.

Nice pic, becomes almost a "look-a-like" as it could have been from so many places except for the palms, gives surely a kind of "Gasthouse" impression. Interesting story.

Nice to see a different picture fom Malaysia, as Mathias said, my guess wouldn't be Malaysia. The palm trees do indicate some place warm though. The mist is really beautiful, the house and lamppost act as a nice contrast to the mysterious woods/jungle. It looks kind of cozy.
I feel that the picture is a little chopped off at the bottom, but I think that more of the foreground would make this unbalanced. I like the dark shades of green.

I would not guess this is Malaysia if it wasn't wrote up there, Mattias. Looks like some place near my home city, who's cold and where the weather seems to much like this. I would like to have a fireplace, a blanket and a hot chocolate at this house.
About the visions of paradise, I agree with you; spend lots of time over tropical summer, just seeing sand and beaches and for sure you'll enjoy a place like this.
The shot is very bucolic, the fog over the trees is great. For me is two smilies (i'll give them tomorrow - got out of my own). :) :)

Nice; as soon as I saw the thumbnail, I thought it looked like the Cameron Highlands. Well photographed.

Any good pics of foggy Cameron Highlands is a gem.
With all the construction work and land clearing up there in 'paradise', I just wish another pic like this can be taken 10 years from now. Save Cameron Highlands.
