Photographer’s Note
A close-up shot of the offering during the Thaipusam festival in Penang.
The offering was made upon the arrival of the chariot carrying the deity, and making His way to the hilltop temple located just before the entrance to Penang's Botanical Garden.
As usual, external flash is used to enhance the main subject and speed is reduced to darken the atmosphere to allow the incense's smoke visible.

I like this close up, showing only the hand to let us imagine who's carrying the offerings. the smoke is giving atmosphere to the shot.

i noted that you used flash almost in all your photo. eventhough you are capturing a shot right under the sun. simetimes it give a nice brilliant colour but sometimes it don't. depends pn your exposure. but most of your photos gives quite an impressive enviroment.

eric, i'm back.
clear shot of the offering plates, and the hands holding it makes the action whereas the smokes added the stamosphere.

Eric,
For us western countries, the colours of Asia are almost irresisteble, you can compare it to a mermaid whisper...
There's so much true, love and athmosphere. As my previous critique, i must say that this photo is very good Eric. Nice mood again. I like this most rather to your Beauty Contest photos, but it's my opinion and i'll be expecting new photos from you.

Very nice lighting in this shot. I like how you framed this one. External flash? How far up was it? If its the light from above then this is perfect placement of the flash. Nice work. Thanks for commenting on my photo.

Hi eric
Nothing wrong with the composition. It just needs a little sharpnening, & some more yellow color. A very good daily life shot.

I like the sharpness in this photo and the smoke coming out is superb. The view of this photo was enhanced a lot due to the smoke.

A typical view from Asia. I like the incense smoke, the faith we can feel and the way you composed that !
