Hello friends in TE.
This is an East Malaysian dance that is very strongly influenced by the Philippines.
The dance involves jumping steps and the dance is a display of the skill of the dancers that maneuver their feet in and out so as not to get their feet trapped by the bamboo. The 2 bamboo poles are usually approximately 6 feet long and are held by 2 dancers that beat them together and over a shorter length of wood or bamboo creating an interesting rhythm.
Sometimes there are even 4 poles that are held by 4 dancers. The tempo can be increased to further display the skill of the dancers.
Among the musical instruments used are the gong and bamboo. Both are percussion instruments that provide the rhythm for the performance.

A great example of decisive moment, a second earlier or a second later might give a different unfavourable result. Spot on crop with main dancers strategically located filling much of the frame, a high action shot well frozen with hint of motion effect well rendered as they make a spectacular display of colors and movements. Their energy is intense and the look of concentration on the faces really make the shot and thanks to your fill in flash without much harshness. I also feel that this has given more detail to the costumes and looks pleasant to the eyes. Great atmosphere, Well taken shot, Congrats, TFS

You picture is all what TE is about! You show us culture of your country, an interesting dance being practised here. I saw a similar dance in Thailand as well...perhaps would have emanaed & spread from Philippines. Your note adds value to the picture!
