Photographer’s Note

Hello friends in TE.

Kadet Remaja Sekolah Malaysia (KRS) was officially launched on 20 June 1995 and its membership opened to all boys and girls. Since then, many schools began to bring in this youth organisation as they see the importance of uniform unit in bringing up the student's discipline. Almost all KRS unit are formed when a new school is established or brought in by the administrator of the schools which are established earlier.

Hi Jusni

How good are uniforms and military drills for children, that is the big question. When I went to college I had to join a semi-military organization of the school, which I did not like, but it was mandatory. Would I had lived in a different state of Switzerland, I would not had to join. Thais are really very eager to wear an uniform, but in Malaysia I'm not so sure if the population really wants to dress in uniforms. To instill discipline in the kids is not the duty of the government but the parents. I know, both parents work, who will look after the kids? Nothing against your photograph, that technically is absolutely fine, I'm only concerned about the effect of uniforms. What so ever, a well executed photo job!

Hello Jusni, Lovely sharp portrait, beautiful smiling face, nice colours, There is always something about people in uniforms that we find interesting. I wondered if this is a Scout type of movement or a more military type, I Googled once more but I don't think I found a satisfactory answer. Thank you for the foto & for arousing my curiosity.

This is a great portarit shot, but what I like most about it is the blurred, colourful background. It seems to complement her cheerful expression. Great sharpness, and an all-round impressive composition.
