Photographer’s Note

Most beef and mutton are imported frozen from Australia, New Zealand, and India but many cows and sheep are imported alive and get to stay that way in the country for some days or weeks. If you can like this one you may also like the one in WS. I had mixed feelings about posting these photos but today I decided to post them anyway. Pictures show the cutting after the slaughter and skinning.

Effective photo with a spectacular composition, You approached onto the essence...the men work absorbed. The colours and details are impressive. Suggestive daily life shot. Have a nice weekend!

Salam Latiff,
it reminds me a lot of things. the qurban, the sweat in slaughtering and skinning, and the khenduri.
Nasi kawah geng is the best when youre in such a feast.
I like the rokok daun guys and also the reggae style skull cap.
the capture is well balance in light and colours.
I like the shot.

Hello Latiff,

A big thank you again to you and your wife for the hospitality while we were in KL. We just came back on Thursday.

I am ok with this kind of photos while some may feel disgust about the apparent cruelty, but why the fuss? we all eat the same meat.

You have done the right thing to include both butcher in colourful wear which adds bright colours to this composition. The standard lens with f/1.4 certainly works well in this kind of lighting condition.
