Photographer’s Note

An Obian girl raising water from a well at the edge of a mangrove swamp near Kampong Baru Baru, in Ambong near Kota Belud. Her village, Kg Baru Baru is about 1 km from this well and she ferries between 40 to 50 litres of water by her dugout canoe twice a day.

There are roughly 200 families in the village and the well owner charges RM10 per family monthly for the fresh water.

Hi Rabani,
A lovely wide angle perspective. I like the surrounding environmental detail with the boat, trees, swamp, and her little companion ... I wish she is not seated where she is but small matter. Natural colors and lighting. By the way I bought the carbon tripod (190CXPRO3) you recommended. Regards. Latiff.

This is a fertile land where able to supply much water and plantations for villagers daily life, lively to show a village lady beside the well, good shoot to show a scenery full in village flavour.
