I already modified this picture an old lady make Pandan MENGKUANG Mat. Is a bit blurry, I didn’t use a flash, just natural light. She said she wanted to make this Mat, preparing for her death.

The photo is a nice way of telling a story of elderly woman, all alone and doing her part of surviving in this world. The B&W is good even when the focus has a blur. I think in shooting it is very difficult to get anything good for 1/5s shutter, so a lower f/stop would help, and you are right about a flash would not give the same effect. The shadow is a bit strong in the left side of the woman and doorway too. From this exposure and the effect of the shadow, it is seen easily that the light is not good here for shooting and under such difficult condition, you are bold to take this portrait.
In your notes, please make it at least 5 lines :)
At least I can see you have compassionate feeling to elderly people around you and you tell a good story using the photos. Keep shooting, posting and telling your stories.
