| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The beaches along Terengganu coast are magnificent, its waves and colour. There were not many swimmers as it is has sudden depth and jagged underground caves due to heavy and strong monsoon waves.
The pandans is a hardy type of plant with strong thorny leaves. The fruits look like pineapples but not edible. The leaves can be used to make handcrafts such as wallets and handbags.
This plants could be seen grown wild along the beaches, undisturbed and sometimes unkept too |

Assalamualaikum Foozi. Mengkuang and Pandanus is a kind of plant grow wildly in the woods. Mengkuang weaving has started long before the history of Modern Malaysia till today. Before the weaving takes place, mengkuang leaves will be dyed into desired colour and dry under the sun. I remembered helping my mother going through the process during my much younger days. Weaving always done as cottage industry in rural area and then sold in the market, but we made our mats for our own use. Thanks for sharing this image and very well done. Regards. Jusni
