Photographer’s Note

MPH Bookstore at One Utama Shopping Mall, Bandar Utama. MPH Bookstore is the largest English bookstore chain in Malaysia. Well, I was there looking for a book but this is what I got. Taken with ISO 2500, no flash. Initially processed and white balance adjusted in Canon's DPP RAW.

Hello Latiff,
The image quality is without question at ISO2500 using your Canon 5D and the 2.8 lens, good exposure and no noise. The focus on the girl is good with nice blur to the BG. Tones of colour look very pleasing too. I suppose your 5D is a full frame camera. Nice shot

Hello Latiff,
beside the technical perfectness (astonishing, considering ISO 2500) I would like to praise the masterful use of limited depth of field. But even more important is the proper moment and the superb composition. Congratulations!

I think you are doing what I have done with high ISO and this is a good result of the performance for FX sensor. The light is well managed and the lens quality is good for this shot. I would give you a call and we can have tea on late afternoon March 2 when we are done with Lowyatt Plaza.

Hello Latif,

Its quite an interesting shot because of the positioning of the people in your frame. The the little one's interesting face adds to the dynamic of the shot.

Hello Latiff,

Ah, nice shot. KL is a great city for shopping and even in books you will find everything there you could wish for.
I really like the place. I worked in Medan for a year, for the Red Cross on the reconstruction in Aceh and on Nias island. And in the weekend every now and then I'd get a cheap ticket and hang out in KL. Wonderful times....
