Photographer’s Note
I was at One Utama Shopping Centre, Petaling Jaya last week. There was a section with stalls displaying Sarawak goods. At about 7PM, there was a cultural dance performed by this lovely beauty together with another 2 dancers. Asked for their permission and took a few shots before their Ngajat Dance.
The largest state in Malaysia, Sarawak is blessed with an ethnically diverse population, which consists of both indigenous and non-indigenous peoples. The former comprises Ibans, Malays, Bidayuhs, Melanaus, Kenyahs, Kayans, Bisayahs, Kelabits, Penans and Muruts; while the latter include the Chinese and other Asians, as well as a few Europeans. You may read more about Sarawak here.
The photo was cropped to focus more on the lady. Did some touch up to get rid of the flash reflection from her forehead.
I seldom do potrait, your critiques and comments are welcome.

Hi Chai
Good portrait and touch-up work. But unfortunately, the shot is too "stiff". Try to captured these lovely lady during the dance. It will give more "life" to the picture.
Best of luck.

Hi Chai,
A good cultural kind of photo with strong local flavour. Sharpness and clarity is good. I agree with Eric that a more natural pose will make it stronger. Still a good shot. Regards.

Hi Chai, A nice portrait of the well dressed up lady. You have very well used the shallow DOF in taking this clear and sharp picture. A well captured sharp image. I especially enjoy the head decorations. It looks that it is a very complicated crown. Thank you for sharing.

Hello Chai,
A beautiful lady, a beautiful portrait!
Good even lighting leaving great skin tones and fine details, and you capture her professional dancer expression well...
Great colours and details in her dress, non-intrusive background!
