Inside Batu Caves
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Much have been said about the Batu Caves, located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Well publicized through photos of the annual Thaipusam celebration.
For those who have not been inside this great cave, would like to share a shot taken during this year's Thaipusam, with the place packed with devotees and tourists. This was taken from the inner part of the Temple Cave, which is at a higher elevation. The Temple Cave is a large cavern and a 100m-high ceiling. At the top left corner is the entrance, after the 272-step climb, with sunlight shining in.
Batu Caves has many chambers, some still unexplored. While some of the caves are off-limit, the Malaysian Nature Society conducts guided tours to some of the chambers.
I did not have my tripod with me. For this shot, the camera was placed on the edge of a wall. |
