While I was getting in and out of the hotel I was staying, this big sign greeted everybody in the lobby.
The sign says " Have a joyous 49th Indepandance Day !" I know I was a bit late but still better late than never. Malaysia will turn 50 next year and a grander celebrations are already in the planning stage. Next year will be another "Visit Malaysia Year 2007" This message is already promoted to the world with about 80 MAS planes carry the title on the fuselage with the official logo. You may see the photos of mine in Airliners.net
Coming back to the photo, it was taken at about 2:30PM. The busy rush for lunch time was over. The Japanese restaurant and the cafe was quiet. As the lobby was not brightly lit, I was depending on the available ambiance lights. ISO was set to 200 and handheld. Photo was adjusted for levelling and cropped to include the full view of the banner.
I like the soft yellow color and provide your feedback if you have any.
Do mark your calendar if you are coming to this region next year. See ya !

I am pleasantly surprised to see 'selamat' in the sign; the Filipino language has the word 'salamat' which means thank you. Lovely capture of this banner sign promoting the country's independence day celebration. Good colors and sharp too. Best regards. Danilo

I like the framing and the sign telling a story I don't comprehend without your translation...

Selamat Hari Merdeka, although it has passed. The sign is nicely framed with your composition. Lighting is nice and the colors from the sign are pretty neat.

Chai, what month is Ogos? It definitively would be very interesting to travel to your country next year, but the family plans are already set for different destiny. However, I will keep it in mind for another year.
I share your feelings about the yellow color. I t is warm and inviting.

Yes, the soft colour IS nice in this shot, Chai. You have also done well to achieve such good sharpness with a handheld shot at 1/25th - you must have a steady hand ;)
Cheers . . . David
