Photographer’s Note
I'll start with a new series (two photos) of Penang Island's newest landmark, the Penang Floating Mosque.
The Floating Mosque costs RM 15 million and was funded by the State and Federal Government. It is the first mosque built on stilts in the country and the first along the Straits of Malacca.
The mosque blended both local and Middle Eastern architecture and boasts a seven-storey minaret, accessible to public to view the sunset or sunrise.
With the capacity to accommodate 1,500 people, this mosque was built among the stilts houses of the Tanjung Bungah Fishing Kampong.
For your information, the Fishing Kampong was badly hit by the Tsunami disaster on the 26th of December last year. The mosque was partly under construction and suffered no loses, except those stilts houses built along the seashore
Here, this is the front main angle of the mosque which outstretch toward the sea. The time was about six pm when I took this shot which gave me the blue sky.
The next photo will be from the seaside. So, just tune in and critics and comments are most welcome.

Eric,
The color, clarity and composition of your photo are very good. What I find a little confusing is that there is nothing in the shot to give me a sense of scale. Because the building is so new, it almost looks like a miniature model. A person or bird or other object added to the photo would have provided perspective on the size of the building. It sounds like a very beautiful place.

Very nice blue sky and the mosque is sharp. Due to the wide angle lense, the right hand side of the photo is tilted and creates imbalance to me.

Hi friend, Beautiful and well composed pic with contrasting colors against the sky above. I liked the angle from this shot, it makes it a 3D picture. However, this subject
alone make it very "lonely". Maybe if there is some activities going on would make it more interesting and livelier. Regards, Andrew

Selamat Pagi Eric,
Very beautiful mosque and nice view that presents flying perspectives in two directions, clarity and sharpness are very good. You might want to correct the heavy distortion, I prepared a WS for you.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

You have captured this mosque so well, Eric, that it almost looks like an architect's table model. The detail is excellent, the colours superb. A very clean, crisp shot. Well done.

Hi,
Nice POV shot. Very sharp and clear.
It's like an icing cake. Matter a fact, it's quite a modern looking mosque.
Thanks for sharing.

Yo Pal,
I prefer to this shot rather than your current one because the sky the attraction. Well, sometimes it's hard to predict the enviroment to captured a good and perfect shot. I agreeded with James that you should put in a few subject, like people, to provide the perspective of the mosque.
2 point for your hardwork.

This is good Eric. Like the other photo, you have managed to capture this mosque in its singular form without distraction from secondary subjects. The quality of light is good and the blue sky is just promoting. You did justice to this mosque, from this angle.

Hi Eric, I like this well composed picture. The view from the corner make a good view of the mosque. The water on the side provides the support to the “floating mosque” title. The blue sky makes a very nice contrast. A very nice, clean and sharp image and a very informative note. Well done.

Well I have to say I like this a little better than the other one because the other shot of seems to lack detail. This one is nice and sharp. Nice history on it too.

I think this is my favorite shot of yours, because it shows off the mosque at an imrpressive angle. Your note is informative however I would liek to know why and how does it float?
Its not like a boat is it? Can it move around or did they just build it on the water because there is little room for new development on the land?
Sorry if these are stupid questions but obviosuly I sont know much about the mosque!
This could easily be a postcard of the area with the bright blue sky!

Wow, excellent architecture and interesting note. Glad it wasn't damaged during the horrible Tsunami last year. Your blue sky is a great contrast with the colors of the building.
