Photographer's Note
This is the Kapitan Keling Mosque in Georgetown, Malaysia. It was built in about 1800 and named after the leader of the local Indian Muslim leader at the time. The title refers to the fact that Penang is the food capital of Asia, and to the fact that I am "good on the tooth" - a good eater. I had been looking forward to visiting Penang and eating my way through its delicacies, only to be struck down by food poisoning shortly before my arrival. My photography experience was limited to 5 photos and my gourmandising limited to dry toast.

Ciao Lisa ,
A splendid mosque , very well framed by the branches . It seems you are here at the edge of the overexposure . May be you could have underexposed a little ?

Hi Lisa
a striking looking place and your accompanying note did explain the title, bringing a wry yet sympathetic smile to my face. Hate being unwell miles from home as you feel so vulnerable and frustrated. This mosque is immaculate and your shot does it full justice. Which unfortunately you cannot say about sampling the food! ;-) (sorry!)
Regards - Brian.

Ciao Lisa,
Sorry to hear about your problems in Penang, it is really a very fascinating place with lots to photograph if you can out and about:-) I like this well balanced shot, which is nicely lit and has good colours and sharpness. Better luck next time!

Ciao Lisuzza,
luce fortissima ma ben gestita, bellissima giornata con un bel cielo pulito con cui le cupole scure contrastano benissimo, molto bella anche l'architettura di questa moschea..ottima qualità....
buona serata...

Hi, Lisa,
This mosque looks very familiar to me. Could I see it on the TE before? Excellent postcard from Georgetown, excellent combination of the shapes and colors.
Happy New Year and all the best wishes!

Ciao cara Lisa,
Not a bad picture at all considering that you were probably retching with stomach pains when you took this one. It's not easy to concentrate the mind on photography when sphincters are demanding more than their fair share of attention.
An interesting note and an excellent photograph which is well composed and has some lovely light. The brightly lit building stands proudly against a clear blue sky, the exposure is perfect and the details and sharpness exquisite.
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Ciao Lisa
Good story but sad story.I experienced the same thing when I visited Normandy in France. Bad mussels. But I managed to take a superb picture that was used for a French calandar regarding cheese.
Proof that you can survive on dry toast and still continue to take good pictures.
Have a nice day

Hi Lisa,
Great shot of a beautiful building. I love that style of dome, and its something we dont see here in Ireland, so always a treat to behold. Sorry to hear you were sick at the palace of he with the great tooth, now that is ironic. I cant remember Alannis Morrisette singing about anything like this.
Thanks for your crits on my recent photos too, well remembered about the winged statue with the hole in her chest, I might go and try and get a shot of that one soon. Would like to go this weekend, but sadly it looks like Dublin could be consumer by riots this weekend, as this flag trouble from Belfast is spilling into Dublin with the protesters coming down to ask the irish government to remove the Irish flag from over the Irish parliament. (I dont understand that to be honest). Still, maybe if I do get in, I'll get some nice live action shots of idiots throwing bottles that I can sell to the news!
I hope you are surviving the heatwave there at the moment. have been watching the fires in Tasmania on teh news, heartbreaking to see people lose everything like that. Even down to trying to run from the fire by going to the beaches. Scary situation. We've just settled back into Irish Winter here now, so the ice is back. I'll bottle up some nice cold Irish air and send it to you express post :)
All the best
Noel

Ciao Lisa
magnifica architettura contro un cielo splendido, un taglio originale, ma forse obbligato, a forse reso la foto più interessante, addirittura stavo guardando l'immagine tagliata ancora più in alto e non sarebbe così male.

Hi Lisa
oh god...'the food capital of Asia'...dont tell Tosca! lol
her #1 love in life is food, if she knows this place a flight will be booked stat!
as for the photo, i'm glad to see the branches breaking up the blue sky, as you know i'm not a fan of bright blue cloudless skies, so its important to sometimes have buffers.
Hope the heat isn't getting to you too much! sounds really hot down there! and there's nothing worse than the type of heat that sticks to you clothes and you get all sweaty! Time for a dip in the pool eh!
take it easy
cheers

Hello Lisa
I am sorry to hear you where sick on Penang. It sucks looking forward to some culinary treats only to be struck down by food poisoning. Alas next time ...
This is a beautiful mosque with some great architectural details, a tad bid overexposed maybe?
I hope you are not to much bothered by the heat wave and the fires raging down under and you are all well? Anyway my thoughts are with the affected people.
I almost have a bad conscience to go skiing in the cold again.
have a good time

Hi Lias,
Thanks for this excellent photo from my "second home".
Also many thanks for your excellent comments. I agree with you, it would be nice to have full reflections of the seagull. I tried hard but it was jumping around and also fighting with other fellows.
I like the view point to this nice mosque. The colors and color contrast are fabulous, the light is very good. Well done.

Cropped right above street line to enhance the unique domes of the monument, Lisa, and inspite of your health at the moment taken, you masterfully applied a beautiful pic.
Happened to me in Antalyia/Turkey, so I learn not to eat-out on open markets and stalls...dry toast is an exquisite meal sometime...
