Penang Ferry Passengers Photo

Photographer’s Note

The Ferry is part of the attraction of the island of Penang. Everybody uses it, if you drive or walk, there is no difference. It's slow and most of the time not on time, but it's cheap and less time consuming then to use the Penang bridge to the mainland, where the traffic often comes to a standstill. Newspaper, food and soft drinks are available on the ferry, there even are cabins for smokers. The ferry really is part of the daily life of Penang.

Hi Urs,

It has been a long time since I last sat on this deck and totally unaware that there is room for smokers. I always drive my car into this ferry and seldom walk upstairs on the passengers bay. Truly wonderful capture of the daily life around Penang. Superb clarity and depth. I like it and best regards.

This scene of the daily life is very spontaneous, the people who overstocks the ferry give a vital touch to the image. Some persons are looking at the photographer, in a capture that I would not dare to execute, and that looks like a photojournalistic work.
Very interesting, with good perspective.
