Photographer’s Note
Taken at a temple in Georgetown, this was a red post with black Chinese characters written on it.
The temple was empty when I arrived with my boyfriend; it was quiet and serene. After we entered, the man minding the temple turned it up a notch. Soon huge glass cases were brightly lit up and began rotating, and an intense chanting CD was played.

as things are, i like this, but i prefer your similar photo 'blaze'. it's only a matter of opinion, but i would consider leaving this photo at its present size, then cloning out the blurry thing in the background, and extending the orange haze in the bottom right straight up the side. it's a bit of post process fiddling, but i think the result would be startling.
i think the blurry thing is neither here nor there and so detracts from what could be a more stark contrast from the red/black to the creamy white.
i guess the other alternative is to clone the blurry thing all the way down to the photo base.
if i get time, i may workshop it in the next week or so and see.
hope you take the critique in its positive intention. cheers

I like your shot Melissa, despite it's not a traditional TE composition. I would however react on periola's critique that I consider valid and I have posted a workshop.
