Hi friends in TE.
The threatening sky made a dark reflection on the sea. In this image, I've included the ferry, a cargo ship and a cruise liner. The shot was taken hand hold on a moving ferry from Georgetown to Butterworth. A risky shot at 1/25s.
Thanks for viewing and best regards.

Your composition is good and also the light, but I think I miss something in this photo. What? A good point of interest... that's a pity.

Quite a chance or coincidence that you and I are both posting a ferry, on of Penang & Sarawak but at a different perspective of the sea & river. I believe your ferry is faster speed and bigger. Very well captured composition to show the color of the boats in good light although the sky is dark and water is even darker. I wonder why the sea water is not bluish or greenish? Because for 1-miles out of the sea, it should be clear water. About the comment on point of interest, of course the ferry and boats are too small to generate interest, so a main subject perhaps is missing. And I would not wish to take dark water as one :)
Greetings from Borneo.

Storm lightning are a luck for photographers. It is well evidenced here with the red colors of the boats striking against the variety of grey tones in the background sky.

It's very beautiful the contrast between the dark sky and water and the colored boats. The effect of it is marvelous. Parabéns

I like those red spots in the endless blue and grey. Well framed with sharp details and vivid colors

The red boats make a perfect contrast with the dark sky. The composition is very good and the light is just perfect! A very good moment!

Threatening sky, a nice arrangement of red ships on a dark sea, a strangely wonderful light... Those are the ingredients you wisely used to produce a very attractive photo. I wouldn't have risked using 1/25, as I never can disguise the difference of using lower f. stops in distant subjects like this one, but the sharpness is perfect, so I guess it was a good option.

Very nice composition! I've enjoyed a lot of these strong colors. Beautiful contrasts between the red and gray. Good POV and framing. Best regards, Consuelo

The huge sky and the spunky little ferry really make the shot. Nice clarity of colors as well

Good pov to show busy transportation systems on the sea between Georgetown and Butterwoth, fantastic cloudy sky before raining, is it still able for ferries navigation under the storm? Thanks for sharing.

A sky just as I like them, contrasting with an atmosphere. The best.
The place looks lively.
The colors are just fine, precise.
Have a good week.

what a dramatic sky you shot, yet you managed to keep the brightness of the ferries very intact. Nicely composed of non-overlapping ships and the thirds work very well here.
