Photographer’s Note
Hello friends in TE,
I am posting another seascape with this unique architecture sitting at the tip of the earth :-). This little place served seafood to the locals and visitors. The shot was taken at almost sundown with the light at the place has already been switched on. The rocky foreground is the retaining wall as the wave can be very rough at certain time of the year.
The sea comes into full view about two kilometres down the road. Here, visitors can observe the daily activities of the locals. Much of what happens depends largely on the tides.
During high tide, fishermen set out to sea, returning only when the tide turns. Most use small crafts or sampans made by local boat makers whose workshops dot the coastline.
During low tides, one can watch mollusc collectors wading through knee-deep mud to sieve for mussels, cockles and clams. These are either snapped up by waiting buyers at the shore or sold at small makeshift stalls. Locals like to buy their seafood this way as they are fresher and cheaper than that sold at the market.
Indeed, the Kuala Sanglang-Kuala Perlis stretch of coast has the highest concentration of fishermen in the entire state, with the fishing industry being the top employment provider.
Much of the shoreline is rocky as a result of on-going road works by the government but there are still pockets of sandy beaches if you look carefully. These places are favorite haunts for those who like to take short strolls on the beach or enjoy quiet picnics.
The picturesque fishing village of Kuala Sungai Baru comes into view about halfway through the journey. Here, visitors can buy fresh marine produce or get a taste of the simple lifestyle of the fisherfolk. You can watch them drying shrimps, salt fish and squid in the open or mending their nets.
Visitors like to stand in the middle of the single lane Sungai Baru Bridge and take memorable pictures of colorful fishing boats chugging up and down the river.
The coastal road ends at the mouth of the Perlis River. Here, tourists can take their time to explore the coastal town of Kuala Perlis, the second largest town in the state, located 13km south west of the capital of Kangar.
Thanks for viewing!

hi Jusni
Great evening view with ambient light and reflection on the wet beach. I believe the tide goes out very far. Is it muddy?
Many years ago, I visited Port Klang's
seafood restaurant like this one. In Kuching, we have very similar outlets along the coast.
Very relaxing and cooling when there is a breeze but always humid and mostly with a lot of mosquitoes at night. Smelly too due to the mud from rivers.
Food may not be cheap but they are always fresh.

Hi Jusni,
this is another very nice coastal landscape. You've composed making good use of the seafood outlet and the foreground rocks. I also like the soft light in its pink tones and the exposure overall. Great job!

The propped up house still is a large one. The day light is falling and this scene deserves sun light. Naturally you must have another opportunities for returning here. The house is a very typical one and once it sells seafood it would be interesting to see people dealing or just when they sat at the table. I guess it is a restaurant. I guess too they have conditions for grilling. In my case I do not eat anything made in oil. Best regards.

Hello Jusni,
This place seems have great potential for photography. Especially amazing effect of low-high tides can be creates splendid scene as same you already discovered one of them wonderfully. I like reflection on mud, it works like a mirror with their low viscosity. Reddish horizon, green facade and rocky shore are fantastic. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

Hello Jusni
An integral depiction of serenity is convied by dusk on calm waters and that beautiful green reflexion of a mostly-deserted-by-fishermen cabin.
The distant yellow cast and low light are quite informative of the moment of day.
Best regards.

Oh, there is more :)
Well...not so eye-catching as the previous two. Clearly sun has set and left pink traces in the sky. The air is getting colder and that is beautifully felt from the shot. I must admit i have really big issues with the green colour of the house. Of course this has nothing to do with you :) but this colour is killing me. :) But i can imagine it does offer wonderful view from its terrace. Lovely impression of night slowly comming and place setting into peaceful mood.
Kind regards,
Jeri

Hi Jusni,
This picture seems in 3D, the rocks in the foreground are a good choice in the composition of the image. Beautiful light, well communicated.

Salam Jusni,
ths is a lovely place to dine. Seafood is abundance. The place is beautifully captured against the soft blue background of the sea. The position of a lone boat in the shot is very brilliant, without the rules of third I think he will be negelcted.

Foozi
