Hello fiends,

Freshwater fish farm is becoming popular in Malaysian rivers and lakes. This lake in Perlis breeds fish in cages and this farmer is up early to attend to his duty. Tilapia is the most commonn breed for aquaculture here.

Tilapia in aquaculture
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Because of their large size, rapid growth, and palatability, a number of tilapiine cichlids are at the focus of major aquaculture efforts, specifically various species of Oreochromis, Sarotherodon, and Tilapia, collectively known colloquially as tilapias. Like other large fish, they are a good source of protein and a popular target for artisanal and commercial fisheries. Originally, the majority of such fisheries were in Africa, but accidental and deliberate introductions of tilapia into freshwater lakes in Asia have led to outdoor aquaculturing projects countries with a tropical climate such as Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Looking at your picture it appears that the lake is quite large and located in a hilly area. The boat, being so small in the picture, adds to the idea that the lake could be big. The hazy background is nice and places the scene in the early hours of the morning. Well done.

Hi Jusni

I like the immensity of the bg mountain & the sea, against the small fihing boat. Good flattened perspective from the zoom, with excellent sharpness. Tfs!

hi jusni

Even though it is a bit mono-tone and dull, I like the blur hazy BG to give highlight to the boat. The photo does look a bit plain without much subject of interest, but it is nicely shot. Just my viewpoint which you may not agree, a closer shot may show more livelihood of the fisherman?

Hi Jusni, I like this kind of shot, this is a seemingly simple composition, but there's a lot going on here.

The simple part is with the single fisherman in that warm light set perfectly in the bottom left of your frame to anchor the shot. A counter to him is the forest on the right across the water. Then the shot starts to grow into the second level with the water contrasting against the forest covered hills. These are enshrouded in a fog which lets them build one on top of the next, until we get to that mauve foggy sky. From a technical point of view I have to ask, do you use levels, as I would think this might hurt your fog and the effect?

Thanks, John

Hi Jusni, it is ideal framed and the lightness makes it nice atmospheric.
Cheers

Dear Jusni,
I just saw this post after I'd uploaded mine. Feeling there's something similar in subject matters and its placement with my Wide Blue work.

Your colors and the vignette seems to have successfully given the effect it needs to draw the attention to what it painted.

Hello Jusni
I like this one...except for the noise in the BG, like your compo, with the layers created by the hills against the pastel sky. The anchor of the shot is of course the fisherman & his boat lit by the warm light & placed well in the bottom left of your frame. The landscape is quite immense & you've done a good work here!
Best Regards
