There is very little traffic on the new road to Wang Kelian, an almost forgotten Thai-Malaysian border crossing. Every Sunday the locals from both side of the border meet at the not so ordinary border market. There is no customs nor immigration checks, as long as you just visit the border market along the road
However there is more, there is the almost not from tourism touched Wang Kelian state park, which is shared between the two countries. It is a real heaven for nature lovers. Covering 1,000ha. this limestone forest reserve is very rich in fauna, such as birds, mammals and reptiles. Moreover the Wang Kelian State Park has a challenging jungle trek from the camping area that leads to the interesting Wang Burma cave system, among them the Gua Kelam.

Did you drive all the way into Thailand Satun?
I did. Try Ko Li Pe or Tarutao. Fantastic places, not so spoilt by civilisation.
You can buy fresh produce at the border market too.

the point of view from the curve is marvellous and we can see the woody Mt. on the background. The low traffic is a bonus to the composition.

A very refreshing photo.A pity about the car,but the scene is perfect.I love the grasses on both sides of the road with the light coming through them, and the clouds over the beautiful mountains.WEll Done.

A breathtaking view I have yet to discover Urs My last visit in Perlis was 40 years ago, just up north 800km away!. Lovely rural view and excellent back drop and the valley below. Compostionally very good with many interesting foreground subjects to mention, the tree banches on top rhc, the lush long green grass and the well positioned vehicle just inviting us into the frame. The touch of yellow creates a great visual effect to this image. Lighting quality is good at this late afternoon increases the depth further with a touch of slight golden glow in the sky. Lovely capture and thks for sharing. Congrats

Very nice nature view, creative pov to frame the background landscape through the foreground corner, clear to show the unique geographical features, lighting, exposure and sharpness are all superb, well done.

What a view! It must be dangerous to drive there, for you may be distracted by the beauty. The mountain on the back, in this distance, provides an incredible sight, and I like the car perspective. Very good work, congratulations!

A very beautiful scene, Urs. I would crop off FG to get rid of the car and clone out the pole and I think you will then have a fabulous photo, but very good as is.

Wonderfully picturesque composition. The light brings a fine dimension to this vista.Excuse my ignorance but are you driving on the left side like the English?I know we did so in Australia.Friendly regards Wolf.

This is a beautiful view with the mounts emerging from the flat planes. There was one minor problem that bothered me. Accordingly, I performed a small excision in ws.

always a pleasure to visit your gallery.
its not too often we get to see roads like this from you.
i like the curve of the road, the colors of the brush with the tips being yellow, and the lush mountains into the background.

beautiful view, original composition. I like the framing with the hills on both sides. The car on the road introduces a feeling of adventure. It could be a great ad for the car maker.
Very attractive light.

Hi Urs. The sky like painting is amazing. The details specially in the foreground bushes are very sharp and your composition was well thought and well balanced. I like the V shaped bushes and the inclusion of the car. Well done.
Have a nice day.

been quite sometimes since my last post, eh!
It seems I have not visited this place for quite sometimes too. You have taken at its best point, showing its natural beauty. The lallang on the small hill and the padi fields with lovely clouds.
Exciting shot and pleasant unspoilt place.
