[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dear Friends in TE,
This picture was taken at the filling-up station minutes after closing a deal on my first DSLR (used D50). I was trying out the “feel” of the camera. Love the yellow building against the overcast sky with advertising banners in a row. Felt good in my hand after a long absence of SLR (hardly take any more pictures with my OM-1 and AE-1). This might not be a good picture but I feel good about sending my first composition with my NEW camera. Please critique/s!

De chers amis dans TE, cette image ont été pris à la station remplissante-vers le haut des minutes après fermeture une affaire sur mon premier DSLR (D50 utilisé). J'essayais l'"sentir" de l'appareil-photo. Aimez le bâtiment jaune contre le ciel obscurci avec annoncer des bannières dans une rangée. Senti bon dans ma main après une longue absence de SLR (à peine prise plus d'images avec mon OM-1 et AE-1). Ceci ne pourrait pas être une bonne image mais je me sens bon au sujet d'envoyer ma première composition avec mon NOUVEL appareil-photo. Svp critique/s ! 1/320s - f9 - OIN 200 - 26mm

Congratulations. Hope taking pictures will be more fun & challenging. Simple but with pleasant geometric element. Colors & contrast are great too. There is a bit of yellow/green color cast. I did a little WS to minimize that.

Hi Jusni,
Really good, for just a "feel of the camera"! Despite the simplicity, it actually has a couple of interesting things: the colours, the "geometry" and the visual rhythm caused by the repetition of the banners and also of the vertical lines of the barrack.
Although it isn't under exposed neither pale, it would get more attractive if it was "brighter" (more contrasted and saturated) and if the sky weren't completely cast (that yellow is screaming for blue :-).

First of all, congratulations on the newly acquired D50. It's a great DSLR and I use it myself. Nothing I wanted to say hasn't been said before by others here.

However, I'd like to add a question: "Bila nak beli lens lagi?"

J'aime bien la repetition de motifs et le contraste entre le jaune or du batiment et le gris foncé du ciel. Bonne cadrage et composition.
