Kampong Bharu, Lumut Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hi friends in TE,

I took the main road to Lumut after making an exit at Changkat Jering from my hometown.One might want to have a look in Kampong Bahru. Not that Kampong Bahru is such a fantastic place but, there's a great restaurant at the waterfront and the views are very nice.

Once at the top of a big bridge. I can already see Kampong Bahru on the right bank.

After the bridge, I took the first road to the left. It's a nice asphalt road. I was driving till I reached at a T-junction. It's about 2 kilometers and I made a left turn and reached Kampong Bahru.

The village is a one street town with a few houses, shops and a little harbor with fishing boats. This coconut tree was captured at the fishing village of Kampong Bharu.

I am writing this note about five meters from the fallen tree.

?? wi-fi or hotspot area along the beach? That is incredible place!

I like this kind of blue sky scenery, really makes a perfect day out in the natural scenery.

A lovely sight of the fallen palm into the water but still able to breathe and live. Good saturation from your CPL, in fact you need it for the strong light.

Jusni,
This is an excellent capture. Lovely waterscape in front and brilliant sky at the background.

But, I am very sorry about this mammoth tree. Coconut tree is termed as Kalpavruksha in India. Means which gives everything you need. This is one of the trees which is used at its fullest extent. Starting from its leaves and coconut till its roots.

I feel grief at its brim for this tree has fallen down. Lovely capture

I like very much the framing and the saturated colors. I wonder why the coconut tree is fallen!
Surely creates a beautiful effect for your shot both with the cotton clouds on the sky.
Keeping a diary is very helpful practice.

If I understand correctly, you shot the photo and post it on the spot. That is faster than CNN News! I don't think anyone on TE have done that before. You to love your SWA lens which is now on my wish list.

The coconut tree provides a good FG feature and an eye leader. You have surely made good use of the CPL to achieve a strong colour saturation. Good work.

It's a beautiful tropical scene, very well composed and with gorgeous light and colours. You exploited well the fallen, but still very alive, coconut tree and the mazing sky.

Hello Jusni, I like the composition of this lovely scene, the fallen palm tree forms a pleasant line & leads the eye into the frame, the saturation of colours are very effective, CPL filter has worked very well. Beautiful scene, well captured.

Thanks to the fallen tree the composition of this picture is much improved. I like the green “head” of the tree just out of the water in the midst of all that blue.

My apologies for neglecting your beautiful gallery for a while, but the end of the year isn't my best :(( Nice shot really with a great perspective created by the tree trunk and that gorgeous sky with the playful clouds. Really impressive. The almost square frame really makes it even more attractive.

Hi Jusni,
Amazing that we have not until now critiqued each others photographs, especially when we have good friends like Bill and Alfred in common,
I like the shot, the blue sky dominating the image works for me, it sets up the remainder of the image very nicely. Interesting that the fallen palm is still growing although partly submerged in the water. You have used the foreground very well in your composition, which I also like to see. Lots of good detail in the image too.
I'm surprised you can get such good coverage across your image with the CPL. I know when I try to use mine on a wide lens it will only cover a small portion of the sky, I'll have to investigate further having seen your image.
A very nice capture accompanied by an interesting note, tfs.
