Photographer’s Note
Ipoh was once a tin mining town. The old town hosts a great collection of pre-war shophouses.
The Kinta River basically runs through the middle of the town. In 1892, a great fire gutted the East part of town center. The town had to be rebuild. So this part became known as the "New Town". Pre-war shophouses can still be seen in some parts of new town.
