Photographer’s Note
A window with iron grating in Chinese style.
This is the first photo I shoot at Bentong during my latest visiting to this town. While parking vehicle, I attracted by the strange decoration with compact disc hanging in front of the window, I found this type of decoration at few houses around this town and neighbour town- Karak Village. However I'm not sure their purpose, may be to celebrate Earth Day?
The iron grating in Chinese traditional design is difficult to acquire for install to our new house in city, many of today workshops only supply and manufacing stainless steel gates and window frames in simply design.
I included with the bottom old metal gate too, today many new shop lots in city install with glass doors completed with alarm system.

hi Ally
Glad to see your new profile photo which now looks youthful and happy :) and thank you for meeting in KL.
I would treat this as ordinary window that is more distracting than decoration until I read your note and look at the disc string. A good idea to recycle the disc and saving money for decorations :)

Hi Ally,
I was reading Bill's critique about the new intro and I'll look at it later:-)
This image is so well captured. I like the colors and the texture of the iron bars. Nicely spotted and TFS.

Hi Ally,
The vertical angle of the photo is an asset to the composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of the decorations of the chinese window. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors of the scene. Have a nice day.

Ally,
Another very nice shot, showing the style of houses and traditional Chinese decoration. The Iron gate is to keep out the intruder, but I like that they include the sign so it doesn't look like something cold and practical, but also as a work of art. Good details and quality. thanks

Hello Ally,
Thanks for the typical style from the Chinese shop lot's window! the most in common is the a/c system unit from the outside of each house or shop lot! it's make a special pattern in nowaday city!

HiAlly
The red & yellow awning provides the necessary splash of colour. Good symmetry of the twin air conditioning units. Excellent sharpness & framing. Bagus sekali!

Hi Ally,
A good daily life shot this. The discs look strange given the fact that they are used for decoration. Is this place that hot, that they use two AC machines for the same room?

Sagarneel.

Bonjour Ally.
Les CD et les ferronneries ont l'air de faire bon ménage pour la décoration de la fenêtre.
Bonne photo reportage !

Hi Ally,
first of all: your new intro photo is very beautiful. And the link to your personal website is also highly appreciated.
This image is another very nice capture of daily life. Very fine colors and light. It gives me an excellent idea of the architecture of this Chinese house. I think the discs are used for chasing away animals (perhaps birds?). TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Ally,
I was really struck by the strong graphical nature of this shot. You've captured nice verticals and stunning details. The colors are great and I also like the area of sky shown at the top. Nice composition.
