Hello friends in TE,

This is another shot at the museum using my Samsung Galaxy S2 hand-phone and Vignette Apps for Android. A shot under low museum lighting.

A gamelan is a traditional musical ensemble from Indonesia, typically from the islands of Java and Bali, featuring a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, kendang (drums) and gongs; bamboo flutes, bowed and plucked strings. Vocalists may also be included. For most Indonesians, gamelan music is an integral part of Indonesian culture.

The term refers more to the set of instruments than to the players of those instruments. A gamelan is a set of instruments as a distinct entity, built and tuned to stay together – instruments from different gamelan are generally not interchangeable.

a fascinating composition that engages the viewer's attention for a long time and works superbly as an illustration to your intriguing note. You've made the elements of the gamelan included in the frame very attractive with your composition and framing. The colours are lovely and, along with the decorative patterns, also give hints about the culture they represent and the atmosphere the music of the gamelan creates. A very strong square format and superbly composed vibrant image taken from this pov, rendering a fine graphism effect and obviously well thought out and processed. The vividness of colours and delicate dertail of each item is so well captured and It is the contrasting shapes, lines, colours that caught my eye. The gongs golden touch is an icing on the cake. A well taken picture, full of local cultural flavours. Itu tikar mengkuang is a rare item nowadays, tx for sharing. Congrats.
